Originally created in the 1960's, the REIT industry has grown significantly over the decades as it provides accessibility for many investors to invest in real estate. Ed discusses with the hosts Nareit's mission, research initiatives, investment characteristics of REITs, and recent market trends.

About Ed Pierzak: Edward Pierzak is Senior Vice President of Research and is responsible for commercial real estate and macroeconomic analysis while building and strengthening relationships with public, private, and academic organizations. Ed has more than 20 years of experience in real estate, finance, and portfolio management. Before Nareit, he worked at San Diego State University, Bridge Investment Group, TIAA, and Henderson Global Investors.
