Altus Group Posts Positive Third Quarter EBITDA Growth and Welcomes New CEO
TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – Nov. 14, 2012) – Altus Group Limited (“Altus”) (TSX:AIF) today announced its financial and operating results for the quarter ended September 30, 2012.
- The business continued to deliver improved EBITDA (adjusted) with a strong YOY quarterly increase of 24.5% and a YTD increase of 51.3%;
- Adjusted earnings per share of $0.25 for the quarter and $0.67 YTD, compared favourably to $0.19 and $0.34 in the corresponding periods in 2011;
- Positive amendments to our bank credit facilities that provide greater flexibility on repayments and bank covenant provisions; and,
- Appointment of new Chief Executive Officer, Robert Courteau, an accomplished business leader with valuable experience gained at a number of well-respected, international technology companies.

Revenue for the third quarter of 2012 was $76.8 million, compared to $76.6 million in the same period in 2011, representing an increase of 0.2%. Year-over-year revenue growth was negatively impacted, due to operations that have been discontinued ($3.0 million of non-continuing revenue in the prior year). Revenue for the nine months ended September 30, 2012 was $241.9 million, compared to $214.9 million in the same period in 2011, representing an increase of 12.6%.
Adjusted EBITDA for the third quarter of 2012 was $13.7 million, up 24.5% from $11.0 million in the same period last year. Adjusted EBITDA for the nine months ended September 30, 2012 was $39.4 million, up 51.3% from $26.0 million in the same period last year.
Profit (loss) for the third quarter of 2012 was $2.3 million, or $0.10 per share, basic and diluted, compared to $(4.5) million, or $(0.19) per share, basic and diluted, in the same period in 2011. For the nine months ended September 30, 2012, profit (loss) was $8.8 million, or $0.38 per share, basic and $0.12 per share, diluted, compared to $(20.6) million, or $(0.91) per share, basic and diluted, in the same period in 2011.
Adjusted earnings per share for the third quarter of 2012 was $0.25, compared to $0.19 in the same period in 2011. For the nine months ended September 30, 2012, adjusted earnings per share was $0.67, compared to $0.34 in the same period in 2011.
For the third quarter of 2012, dividends declared were $0.15 per common share. For the nine months ended September 30, 2012, dividends declared were $0.45 per common share.
Effective October 31, 2012, new positive amendments were made to Altus’ credit facilities, providing greater flexibility on repayments and on bank covenants. The Non-revolving Reducing Term Facility (“Facility C”) was cancelled and the balance of $29.7 million was transferred to the Revolving Term Facility (“Facility B”). As a result, Facility B limit was increased from $110.0 million to $139.7 million.
