About this project

The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) wanted to repurpose and refurbish its facility in St. Anthony to strengthen CCG capabilities and enhance marine safety on the shores of Northern Newfoundland. To achieve this, they undertook an analysis of the existing site, and developed plans to renovate two existing buildings:

  • The former Marine Communications and Traffic Services (MCTS) building (~7,500 square feet)
  • The old CCG Search and Rescue facility (~1,000 square feet)

In addition to the upgrades to these buildings, they developed plans for a new ~250 square foot floating dock and ~2,600 square foot lifeboat station garage to store the fast rescue craft needed for search and rescue operations.
