About this project
This project was to replace four main components of the aging John Hart Generating Station, including the underground equipment and pipelines, the intake at the John Hart Spillway Dam, and the water bypass facility within the generating station. It began in 2014, and was recognized as being Canada’s first P3 project in the hydropower sector, creating a more reliable and efficient generating station.This multi-award winning project was procured as a Design-Build-Finance-Maintain (DBFM) model and will create sustainable energy for thousands of users.
