About this project
Phase 1 of this project involved the construction of a $1 billion network of highway extensions and new toll roads, interchanges, bridges and municipal road crossings. Delivered under a Design-Build-Finance-Maintain model, phase 1 was completed in 2016.
Phase 2 of the Highway 407 East Extension involved the construction of a $1.2 billion network of new toll roads and interchanges for the Durham region of the Greater Toronto Area. In total, the project delivered over 32 kilometers of 4-lane highway, extending the Highway 407 ETR and Highway 407 East Phase 1 from Harmony Road in Oshawa to Highway 35/115, and a new East Durham Link connecting Highway 407 to Highway 401 in Clarington. Phase 2 was delivered via a Design-Build-Finance-Maintain model with total completion scheduled for 2020.
