About this project

Nova Scotia needed renal dialysis unit fit-ups to better serve communities within Halifax and Dartmouth. To achieve this, the province undertook upgrades at three hospitals: Glace Bay Hospital, Dartmouth General Hospital, and Halifax Infirmary. Each fit-up program included major upgrades to medical, administrative, patient and waiting areas; the Dartmouth General Hospital also included new exterior access to the dialysis unit with a 2-storey addition. In all, this initiative added over 20,000 square feet of dialysis space to provide an enhanced level of care to the residents of Nova Scotia.
