Brisbane Marriott Hotel Refurbishment
Overview
The Brisbane Marriott refurbishment involved the transformation of 267 guest rooms and suites, executive lounge, two floors of event spaces and the Hotel’s signature restaurant Motion Dining.
Interior designers Duoz Design, who are based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, were tasked with delivering the classic five-star luxury that the Marriott brand is renowned for, while complementing Brisbane’s social environment and neighbouring heritage buildings. Being locally based, Altus Group was responsible for ensuring this vision was executed. Clear stakeholder management and communication were critical to the success of the project. The Altus team employed a hands-on approach, providing the Client with valuable independent advice.
Having worked with YTL and the Brisbane Marriott Hotel on their previous refurbishment in 2010, and event space revamp in 2013, Altus was well versed in the complexities of working within a live hotel environment and ensuring the impact on operations and guest experience was minimised. Altus Group delivered a fully integrated Cost and Project Management service that provided a high-quality design to renew the Marriott brand in Australia. The $20 million refurbishment was completed in 2019 on the Hotel’s 21st anniversary.
