The Biosciences Research Centre (BRC) PPP is a joint initiative between the Victorian Government through the Department of Primary Industries and La Trobe University. Known as AgriBio, the building is a world class centre for agricultural biosciences research and development. The private sector was responsible for its construction at La Trobe’s Bundoora Campus and is managing ongoing maintenance over a concession period of 25 years. Ongoing work includes D&C and finance,and Facilities Management (FM) services for the operation of the Facility.

Altus provided an independent assessment to assist InfraNova and its financiers. The InfraNova consortium comprised ABN AMRO Australia Pty Ltd, Leighton Contractors, ISS Integrated Services Pty Ltd and Siemens Building Technologies Ltd, who evaluated the project and its risks in relation to the FM elements of the project. Completed in 2013, the BRC provides cutting edge research to improve productivity, fight disease and reduce environmental impact, thereby protecting Victoria’s multi-billion dollar agricultural sector.
