About the multi-year accessibility plan


Altus Group always strives to provide its services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. We are committed to giving people with disabilities the same opportunity to access our services, in the same place and in a similar way as other employees, customers and partners.

In line with Altus Group’s Accessibility Policy, we are committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. This accessibility plan outlines the steps we are taking to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.

Under the AODA and its Regulations, the following are accessibility standards set requirements that are applicable to Altus Group:

  • Customer service

  • Information and communications

  • Employment

  • Training



Customer service


Altus Group will communicate with persons with disabilities in ways that consider their disability.

In accordance with AODA’s Customer Service Standard, Altus Group has:

  • Established an accessibility policy to support people with disabilities, whether employees, candidates, or customers (Jan. 1, 2012). We are committed to updating our accessibility policy in line with any changes in accessibility legislation in the jurisdictions in which we operate.

  • Created a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan to ensure we meet accessibility needs of persons with disabilities in a timely manner (Jan. 1, 2012). We will ensure that the plan is updated at least once every five years.

  • Committed to serving customers who may use assistive devices to obtain or benefit from our products or services, as well as those who are accompanied by a service animal or support person

  • Agreed to provide notice of any planned or unexpected disruptions in the facilities or services usually used by people with disabilities



Information and communications


Altus Group is committed to making our information and communications accessible to people with disabilities. When asked, we will provide information and communications materials in accessible formats or with communication supports. We will consult with people with disabilities to determine their information and communication needs.

In accordance with AODA’s Information & Communications Standard, Altus Group has:

  • Prepared documentation to make emergency and public safety information accessible when asked (Jan. 1, 2012)

  • Ensured that our website was in compliance with World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level A Standard (Jan. 1, 2014)

  • Made our feedback processes accessible upon request (Jan. 1, 2015)

  • Made publicly available information accessible when asked (Jan. 1, 2016)

  • Ensured that our website was in compliance with World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA Standard, except for exclusions set out in the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulations (Jan. 1, 2021). We are committed to ensuring that our website remains compliant after each upgrade.



Employment

In accordance with AODA’s Employment Standard, Altus Group has:

  • Implemented the creation of workplace emergency plans for employees with disabilities (Jan. 1, 2012)

  • Offered accessibility accommodations during the recruitment process to candidates upon request (Jan. 1, 2016)

  • Worked with employees to accommodation their accessibility requirements during their employment and following any return from disability leave (Jan. 1, 2016)

  • Considered accessibility requirements for employees with disabilities in the performance management and career development processes (Jan. 1, 2016)

  • Committed to providing accessible candidate experiences throughout the selection process, where applicants requiring accommodation may contact us via email or phone as indicated on each job posting

  • Committed to providing ongoing support for employees with disabilities, who may request accommodations via email at accessibility@altusgroup.com or by calling +1 888-692-7487



Training


Altus Group provides training to all employees and other third parties who deal with the public on their behalf, and all those who are involved in the development and approvals of policies, practices, and procedures.

In accordance with AODA’s training requirements, Altus Group has:

  • Implemented training for employees regarding AODA’s customer service standards (Jan. 1, 2012)

  • Implemented training for employees regarding accessibility standards and human rights legislation (Jan. 1, 2015)
