About this project

The Ministry of Community and Social Services (“MCSS”) required building condition assessments for all sites in Ontario operated by various agencies that deliver services over four year period. This project mandate involved:

  • Reviewing and documenting the current physical condition of the 4,200 sites used to deliver services funded by the Ministries through a visual inspection;
  • Estimating the cost of addressing deficiencies that are the responsibility of the agency, including the identification of Ontario Fire Code compliance requirements;
  • Detailing the leaseholder’s obligations to maintain the site and to note all critical life safety issues;
  • Estimating the lifecycle investments required to maintain the buildings in a state of good condition;
  • Preparing summary reports for building conditions, the cost of repairs or replacements, and the lifecycle investment implications for the site to help inform and validate the Ministry’s long-term infrastructure investment strategy.
