Alberta oil & gas producers now able to link wellsite equipment to well production
An initiative that was first talked about several years ago is coming together for Alberta oil and gas ratepayers and stands to save time and, in the future, reduce property tax liabilities.
With the transition to centralized assessment of oil and gas properties in the province, ratepayers are being invited to link their wellsite equipment packages to the associated Alberta Energy Regulator (“AER”) well license.
Intended to improve and standardize the assessment process, the benefits to ratepayers include:
- eliminate manual reporting of single wellsite packages taken out of service
- eliminate the need for backup photographic or other physical evidence
Like any new process, accurate setup is necessary for a smooth transition and successful outcome.
We will be assisting our current clients in responding to the Provincial Assessor’s request for this information.
We invite all oil and gas ratepayers to contact us should they need assistance working through this important next step in modernizing the assessment reporting process in Alberta.
