Charles began his career in the UK and has been working in the commercial real estate market since 1972 with over 46 years of experience. After moving to Canada, Charles worked for the BC Assessment Authority for a short period prior to going back into private practice in Edmonton Alberta. Charles then moved to Nova Scotia where he has been working with Altus Group and its predecessor companies for 40 years. Charles was one of the original partners of Altus Group from the company’s inception.

Charles has worked on a wide variety of properties, most recently specializing in larger more complex projects, many involving advisory, potential litigation, consulting, and expert services. He has also been involved with a number of First Nation land claims, many expropriation valuations, and both lineal and single/multiple properties. He has also completed appraisals and related work on many commercial and industrial properties together with land. Charles has been involved with many special purpose properties including quarries, mines, forest lands, land based duty free sites, LNG sites, wharves and piers, islands, harbour properties including the whole of Sydney Harbour, pulp mills, rail lines and fish plants.
