How can I create a custom report template in ARES?

To create a custom report template, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to desired copied report template.
  2. Select the report Menu (three dots).
  3. Select Manage Template.
  4. Click on the Download icon and save template in desired location.
  5. Navigate to the saved template.
  6. Make custom modifications.
  7. Save and close the template
  8. Navigate back to desired copied report template in ARES.
  9. Select the report Menu (three dots)
  10. Select Manage Template.
  11. Click on the Upload icon.
  12. Navigate to the saved template.
  13. Click to highlight template.
  14. Click Open to start upload.

If process was complete successfully, an Upload Complete notification will appear.

How do I add the report files to ARGUS Report Extraction Solution?

To add the report files to ARES, complete the following steps. NOTE: Ensure report files are unblocked before they are added to ARES.

  1. Launch ARES from Desktop shortcut.
  2. Select the Menu in the top right corner (three dots).
  3. Select Add Report.
  4. Click Browse files. NOTE: Files can also be dragged and dropped into the window.
  5. Select the .ares report file. NOTE: Only one file can be added at a time.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for all report files.
    Reports will display on the Home screen once imported successfully.

How do you run an ARES report?

Run a Single Asset Summary

  1. Click Run Report.
  2. Select Folder location to set location files will be saved to. NOTE: A location must be selected to run reports.
  3. Select Portfolio from drop down.
  4. Select Scenario from drop down.
  5. Check desired properties. NOTE: Column headers can be selected to sort properties.
  6. Select Other Options to set Rent Roll Sort or modified Analysis Period if desired.
  7. Click Run Report.
  8. Select Open/Close/Show in Folder when processing has completed. NOTE: Processing time varies depending on number of properties and the amount of data within a property.

Run a Multi-Asset Summary

  1. Click Run Report.
  2. Select Portfolio from drop down.
  3. Select Scenario from drop down.
  4. Check desired properties. NOTE: Column headers can be selected to sort properties.
  5. Select the Other Options tab to set Rent Roll Sort or modified Analysis Period if desired.
  6. Click Run Reports.
  7. Navigate to desired location to save Excel file. Click Save.
  8. Select Open/Close/Show in Folder when processing has completed. NOTE: Processing time varies depending on number of properties and the amount of data within a property.

Can I lock a shared report template to prevent other users from making changes to it?

Report templates can be locked to prevent further edits by following the steps below:

  1. Select the dropdown menu on the report template.
  2. Click Manage Template.
  3. Locate and click the padlock icon. Open padlock = report can be edited. Closed padlock = report cannot be edited.

NOTE: This feature is only available for the creator of the report template and if the template has been shared.

How do you delete an imported or copied report?

To delete an imported or copied report template, complete the following steps:

  1. Launch ARES from the Desktop icon.
  2. From the desired report select the Menu (three dots).
  3. Select Delete from the Menu options.
  4. Click Delete to confirm.

NOTE: If report was shared on a server installation, other users will no longer have access to the deleted report.
